Diagnosis and treatment of local and advanced (oligometastatic and metastatic) prostate cancer
National Cancer Institute Oncourology department as the Center of Excellence for prostate cancer has prepared two training cycles to review diagnosis and treatment issue of local and advanced (oligometastatic and metastatic) prostate cancer. During the conference, lectures and workshops will be organized by doctors urologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologist and researhcers. EBU training duration is 2 + 2 days. MDT meetings will be held every day to discuss the treatment plans for patients with local and advanced prostate cancer. Guests can choose a cycle of their preference (1st-2nd days or 3rd-4th days) or participate in both cycles. The first training day is dedicated to discuss the standards of diagnosis and treatment of local prostate cancer. At the 2nd day will be practical demonstration from operating room: laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with nerve fiber preservation; application of DEX in laparoscopic operations (robotic hand), also open radical prostatectomy with nerve fiber preservation, and the practical demonstration of TRUS, histoscanning, transperineal saturationprostate biopsy, and prostate biopsy with MRI/US fusion. Also there will be an opportunity to watch the procedure of prostate HDR. The diagnosis and treatment options of metastatic prostate cancer will be reviewed on the next 2 days of EBU training (3rd and 4th days of the event). Lectures will present the diagnostic standards of advanced prostate cancer and systemic treatment for metastatic prostate cancer, more precisely: antiandrogen therapy, Abiraterone acetate, immunotherapy and chemotherapy, and treatment of bone metastases with Radius 223. The fourth day is dedicated to review the treatment of castration-sensitive prostate cancer, also to discuss the stereotaxic therapy. At the 4th day of the event will be practical demonstration from operating room: laparoscopic radical prostatectomy with removal of pelvic lymph nodes, also will be presented postoperative urinary incontinence procedure.
